This is my project for the monthly circle challenge that is due tonight on the Circle Blog. I have already made one clock, kind of as a prototype, but this was specifically made for the challenge. I wanted to take pics as I made it so you could recreate it to.
Here are the rules of the challenge:
The theme for this month’s challenge is all about celebrating the reasons why you love to create! Please create a scrapbook page or home decor project CELEBRATING CREATIVITY. Project must be newly created for this challenge and should include atleast 2 cuts to qualify. You must also:
•Use the Shadow Feature
•Use Patterned Paper (purchased, printed, or created with stamps, etc.)
•Use Embellishments to Enhance One of the Cuts (pearls, buttons, gems, glitter, etc.)
I started with cutting a piece of Kraft cardstock 10x10 and I scored 1 inch all the way around it. I then cut out the corners, folded and glued it together to from a lid.
Make 2 of these Lids.
I then took 2 8x10 pieces of craft cardstock and scored on each side, 1 inch in from the sides, just on the sides, not on the top and bottom.
I also took x 8x8 pieces of cardstock and glued to the scored cardstock to form a tube.
I then took one of the lids and attached it to the bottom of the box.
Then I added printed cardstock to the sides.
The above pic is with the printed cardstock attached and the other lid put on. Now I have the base of a box and I can start decorating it how I like.
Here is the finished project. I created a clock face with stamps and buttons, and added clock works that I got at Hobby Lobby.
The words create and inspire were created on my Gypsy using the shadow feature, the font is from Song Bird.
