Crafter's Companion Purse Card and matching Box

I recently purchased the ultimate Crafter's Companion from HSN and decided to create some of the projects on the DVD that came with it.

Here are 2 purses I created using the instructions from the DVD.  You could easily recreate these with the Scorepal or the MS scoreboard.

Supplies
Cardstock for the purse itself
Cutter
Ruler, or Scorepal, or MS scoreboard.
Small piece of velcro
hole punch, I used the cropadile
Ribbon, pearls, or cord for the handle.
Glue or tape runner

The purses started out by being a piece of cardstock 8x10 that I scored at 1 3/4", 2", and at 6".  When you are done folding the score marks you should have a rectangle that is 4x8 with a flap that is approx 1 3/4" hanging over the front.  I then embossed the flap using the Companion, but you could take one of your really handy MS punches and create an embelished flap.

Then, open the purse flat and score a tiny mark approx 1 1/2" in on either end of the flap, just making a small tick mark.  Then score a line from the outside edge at the 6" crease down to the 1 1/2" tiny mark you made on the flap.  Do this on either side of the card.  Fold the card at the 6" score mark with the flap open, and with your scissors cut the score marks you just made so your card has an angle on each side.  Close the flap and position the velcro that is stuck together under the flap and glue down, so it creates a closure on the purse.  Punch 2 small holes in the "1/4"" crease on either side of the purse and thread your Ribbon/pearls thru it to create the strap.  Make sure you glue down securely.  Put a sentiment inside the card and decorate the outside how ever you see fit.

The box was also made with the Crafter's Companion.

I have started making a Cricut Cut file for this purse using George and my Gypsy, and as soon as I get done, I will post.

Have fun creating,  Beth.
