For my project today, I was inspired by a picture I came across where the artist had taken a wooden reindeer that she recycled with new paper, etc. I loved the shape of the wooden reindeer, and went to see if there was a similar cut on any of my Cricut Carts. Unfortunately I could not find one, so I took my Gypsy, and several of the carts I did have and created my own Reindeer.
I used Walk in my Garden for the Legs and "ears"(this is the turtle shell distorted).

I didn't have enough of one pattern of Holiday paper for the whole project, so I printed some with my Cricut Imagine and the Christmas Wish Patterns cart. I cut all of the images 1x on paper flipping the images, and 1x on light weight chipboard. I actually used a backing piece I got with a stampin up paper pad I bought. It was very light weight and cut nicely. I assembled him, inking the edges as I went(Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany). Made the wreath around his neck using silver paper and the branch out of the Tim Holtz Pine Cone die, and he was ready to go.
I also wanted to share today, some pine trees I redyed for the holidays. I have been wanting to try this for sometime. I purchased a pack of pine trees from Micheals. I had a coupon and got a package of 10 for around 6.00. I filled a metal pan with about 2.5" of bleach and put the pine trees in the pan. I rotated them severeal times, and within 10 minutes the green dye had been removed.
I rinsed them in warm water and a little soap to get the bleach off and then I started to experiment.
I purchased some tshirt die at Joanns which I also got on sale. I think it was 2.79 per package.
It came in all kinds of bright, festive colors.
Here the trees are in the die bath.
I also got my Tattered angels spritz's out and colored them with those.
Both methods worked well.
Here are the semi finished trees. I love how they turned out.
I say semi finished because I need to glue on some baubles I bought, and then glitter them up.
This was a really easy project if not just a little messy, I can't wait to make some blue ones.
